Matter of attitude from players to maintain guidelines, says NLEX coach Yeng Guiao
PBA coaches agree with the strict health guidelines that will be implemented once the league gives teams the green light to resume practices.
This was their assessment after meeting PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and other league officials Friday at the league office in Libis, Quezon City.
All that matters now for them is for teams to be able to strictly adhere to the measures which were approved last week by the Inter-Agency Task Force.

“I think it’s good. All we have to do is follow it,” said Barangay Ginebra San Miguel coach Tim Cone.
Under the guidelines, teams will undergo COVID-19 tests three days before the start of practice while training facilities are required to disinfect using hospital standards.
The players are also required to observe what the league described as a “closed-circuit method” wherein they can only go from their homes to practice venues and vice versa.
There’s also the IATF guideline that will require teams to split the practices into batches of a maximum of five people each under General Community Quarantine and 10 if Metro Manila is placed in less-stricter Modified General Community Quarantine.
“I think the PBA has put up an effective guideline to safeguard the players. It’s just a matter of attitude from the players to maintain it,” said NLEX coach Yeng Guiao.
Marcial said coaches raised some suggestions and even asked when scrimmages are allowed.
Marcial said those suggestions will be relayed in a meeting with the PBA Board of Governors on Saturday.
