The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Negros Occidental launched a search and rescue operation to look for 32-year-old Isagani Avansenia of Barangay Bocana.

Commander Jansen Benjamin, head of PCG-Negros Occidental, said that Avansenia and his brother Ivar, 35, went fishing around 11 p.m. when their motorized vessel got entangled in a fish net.

Benjamin said that Isagani failed to grab hold of a floatation device when the boat started to sink.

Ivar was rescued by a passing boat bearing Marilyn Rose and Jenni Villegas. Ivar was unharmed.

The capsized boat was towed to the shoreline, the following day.

As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, Isagani was still missing.

Benjamin said that they have already informed and coordinated with nearby barangays.
