Mandaluyong implements online payment for business and real property tax
The Mandaluyong City government has started implementing online payment for business and real property taxes today, July 1.
According to Jimmy Isidro, Mandaluyong Public Information Office chief, business and property owners in the city do not anymore need to go to City Hall to pay their taxes with the online payment scheme.
The new payment scheme, spearheaded by Mayor Menchie Abalos, is among the city’s innovation to improve basic services.
Existing business and registered real property owners are encouraged to visit https://online.mandaluyong.gov.ph and create an account at the online business portal and
register the business and/or property to pay the necessary taxes.
Isidro said each business or real property will be validated by supplying the existing business permit number or tax declaration number accordingly, and previous official receipts during the registration process.
Isidro said payments can be done either through Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) or Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
Abalos said the application of digital technology does not just simplify the collection of business and real property taxes but also solves the problem of physical distancing in transacting business with government.
Abalos said they are looking at other government services which they can automate and digitize in the coming months.
