Shamcey Supsup-Lee 'honored' to be named Ms Universe PH national director


2011 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup-Lee said that she was honored to be appointed as national director of Miss Universe Philippines (MUP).

"I am honored with my new role for the organization that brought meaning to my life as a beauty queen and as a woman. I am more than blessed to be the National Director of Miss Universe Philippines," said Shamcey, in a statement issued on Instagram

"As I continue to grow, I understand that being an architect and an entrepreneur are facets that will form part of my core as we continue the projects of Miss Universe and create more opportunities for aspiring beauty queens in the future;

"Thank you for the trust and confidence in my capabilities as a strong and independent woman," she added.

The MUP organization is now tasked with selecting the country's official representative to the Miss Universe pageant starting 2020.

For the past 56 years, it was the Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. which sent delegates to the prestigious international beauty competition.

Shamcey finished architecture magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines.

In June 2010, she topped the national board exams for architects with a board rating of 86.60 percent.

Shamcey won the Binibining Pilipinas-Universe title and later competed in the 2011 Miss Universe beauty contest in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

On Dec. 29, 2013, Shamcey tied the knot with long-time boyfriend Lloyd Lee.
