The Philippine Embassy in Cairo briefed members of the Asia-Egypt Business Association (AEBA) to inform them of business opportunities in the Philippines, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a media release issued Saturday.

In his presentation, Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Leslie Baja touted the Philippines’ economic strengths, including the country's GDP growth, which is among the highest in Asia, and other positive macroeconomic indicators, young and competent workforce, and location in the dynamic ASEAN region.

He also highlighted the investment opportunities in the country, particularly in business process outsourcing, infrastructure development, shipbuilding and ports development sectors.

For their part, the businessmen who attended the briefing expressed interest in attracting Philippine investments, particularly in manufacturing and those related to the newly expanded Suez Canal, as well as in enticing more Filipinos to visit Egypt.

The Asia-Egypt Business Association is a non-profit organization representing Asian and Egyptian business interests aimed at promoting two-way trade and investment.
