4Ps beneficiaries in Iloilo, Bacolod avail of 2nd tranche SAP cash aid

By Tara Yap ILOILO CITY —The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-6) has released the second tranche of cash aid under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Iloilo province, Iloilo City and Bacolod City. (DSWD/ MANILA BULLETIN) DSWD-6 Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre said 4Ps beneficiaries started receiving the second tranche of SAP cash aid last June 11. There was a total 104,027 family beneficiaries who were set to avail of the second tranche in the 42 towns and a component city of Iloilo province, as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod. Macapobre clarified the SAP cash aid, intended to ease financial burden because of the strict lockdown from the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), is being distributed to two sets of beneficiaries. Each 4Ps family will be getting P4,650, while the regular SAP aid was P6,000 per family. Macapobre also clarified that regular SAP cash aid for second tranche has not been released since it is going to be distributed by local government units (LGUs) to identified beneficiaries. The LGUs have yet to complete its liquidation report for the first tranche. SAP cash aid for 4Ps beneficiaries are given straight via cash cards. Meanwhile, DSWD has released a total of P1.49 billion for 321,829 4Ps beneficiaries in Western Visayas for SAP’s first tranche.
