The Diliman Doctors Hospital on Tuesday refuted claims on social media that the Office of Vice President Leni Robredo sent spoiled food to its frontliners.
“Diliman Doctors Hospital received today, June 23, 2020, circulating rumor on social media that the Office of Vice President Leni Robredo sent spoiled food donation to our frontliners and that the Vice President’s Spokesperson, Atty. Barry Gutierrez, went to Diliman Doctors Hospital to give money for us to keep quiet,” it said in a statement.
“The rumor also stated that Vice President Leni Robredo, herself, showed up, but the President of Diliman Doctors refused to meet her,” it added.
The hospital management said it received food donations on “three occasions” from the OVP, but none of the claims is true.
It added that both Robredo and Gutierrez “never surfaced” in the hospital to offer them “monetary payoff,” which was allegedly done to keep its personnel mum about the alleged spoiled food.
“It could have been an honor to see the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, Honorable Leni Robredo, visiting our hospital in this COVID pandemic,” the hospital said.
Diliman Doctors Hospital said it is currently focusing on “providing the medical needs of the community in this time of health crisis.”
