PNP's six-day operation nets P22-million worth of shabu, marijuana

By Aaron Recuenco The Philippine National Police (PNP) has seized some P22-million worth of shabu and marijuana in a six-day operation across the country, mostly in northern part of Luzon and the Visayas region. PNP Chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said those confiscated include the P11.6-million worth of shabu seized in Bacolod City on June 18, and the P2.8-million worth of marijuana leaves uprooted and burned after a raid of a marijuana plantation in Kalinga. He said the operations also include the P1.3-million worth of shabu seized in Tacloban City, and another P1.3-million worth of shabu in Caloocan City. Gamboa said the P22-million illegal drug bust is from June 15 to 20. “Let me reiterate this warning. The PNP will be relentless in our pursuit of criminals behind illegal drugs. We will go after high-value targets, as well as backyard operations that prey on the youth,” said Gamboa. He said the successful shabu and marijuana busts are part of the intensified coordination between the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
