Another covert COVID clinic raided in Multinational village

By Jean Fernando The Parañaque City government in coordination with the local police raided a covert clinic in a posh subdivision Saturday reportedly being used to treat and test coronavirus disease patients. City Administrator lawyer Fernando Soriano said the clinic which is being operated by a Chinese national is located on the 3rd floor of Morgana Building, Multinational Avenue, Multinational Village, Barangay Moonwalk, Paranaque City. The clinic is reportedly being used to test and treat mostly Chinese nationals working in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) with the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Soriano said the arrested Chinese national, Cai Yongchun, 51, and a resident of Unit 114 Morgana Building, Multinational Village, Paranaque City is now under police custody for violating Republic Act 10918 (The Philippine Pharmacy Act). Aside from coronavirus testing, the clinic also treats sexually transmitted disease (STD), the city administrator added. The police recovered at the adjacent room of the clinic 64 boxes and 40 plastic bags of assorted medicine and medical supplies in Chinese characters. Several personal protective equipment (PPE), stethoscopes and blood pressure machines were also recovered by the police. The clinic was the fourth to be raided in Paranaque City for operating illegally and ordered closed by the city government. Another underground clinic was earlier raided in the same subdivision, another in Barangay Baclaran and one in Tambo. Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez earlier ordered the police to frequently inspect the village after receiving information that several Chinese nationals were frequenting commercial buildings, rented homes and condo units.
