Mayor Isko Moreno strengthens Manila's online services to combat COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines – The City of Manila is strengthening its efforts against the spread of COVID-19 by launching its Smart City platform called Go! Manila, as well as Manila.StaySafe.PH as the city transitions to general community quarantine.

The Go! Manila platform is a landmark technology initiative by the city government, which is developed to provide convenient and efficient online services to Manileños to lessen physical contact of its citizens that will limit cases of infection.

Meanwhile, is the city’s official pandemic mitigation platform. Its parent system,, is the official contact tracing, social distancing, and health condition reporting system of the country launched by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19.

According to MultiSys CEO and founder David Almirol, Jr., the top priority of the company is to help and lend its strength to the government, LGUs and the private sector so that they may be able to continue their operations while protecting their communities.

“This pandemic has been extremely hard to all of us—so when we were given with the opportunity to help by deploying our technology, we do so without hesitation. Remember, this is not just a battle of our government. This is OUR battle, and each of us has something to contribute towards this common goal. In our little ways, we hope to contribute something for the greater good. One programming code at a time,” Almirol said.

After its full roll out in Manila City, MultiSys is currently implementing its Smart City platform to over 50 LGUs.

Efficient government transactions through Go! Manila

Mayor Moreno also enjoined Manileños to process their government transactions online, at the safety and comfort of their homes or offices, through Go! Manila, as well as propel ease of doing business despite the limitations brought by the pandemic. This includes online and contactless services that will process real property tax, business tax, local civil registry, community tax certificate, clearances, permits, health certificates, ordinance violation receipts, among others.

In the same platform, the City is also integrating and implementing social amelioration, public hospital administration, public market management, and the Manila job portal—which altogether will continue to reinforce ease of doing business while protecting citizens against COVID-19.

The Manila government aims to expand Go! Manila to include a host of additional services and benefits that will advance the transformation of the city into a smart city.

Manual and digital contact tracing through Manila.StaySafe.PH

Manileños can register to the contact tracing solution via the mobile application on Google Play Store and iOS App Store, or website

The Manila Health Department uses to monitor and update COVID-19 probable, suspected and confirmed cases that will provide the City government real-time information for better decision-making. The LGU also uses the platform for manual and digital contact tracing; citizens’ health condition monitoring; and community social distancing via’s comprehensive heatmap, visualizers, and advanced contact tracing analytics.

Moreno also highlighted the importance of using StaySafe’s QR code scanning in the “new normal.” The platform has a QR code scanning feature in the mobile app that can be utilized by various establishments and companies to check if a person entering their premises has reported COVID-19 symptoms or was tested through the City’s rapid swab testing. 

The website and mobile application generate a unique QR code for each user, which they may present for future health checks and contact tracing in various establishments, transport facilities and checkpoints. Non-smartphone users who have been tested by the City or DOH will also be given a pass code as an alternative to the QR code. also has a digital logbook linked to its QR code that supports the Department of Labor and Employment’s visitor health check in offices and workplaces. Private companies can request free admin access of to help them protect and keep their employees, customers and visitors safe via the platform’s digital contact tracing features.
