Mati City Information Office head Ben Tesiorna said in a message via Facebook that the last tranche of food packs, according to their City Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat, will be given to around 56,000 families.
Tesiorna said the local government is going to distribute 10 kilos of rice, 12 canned goods, 12 sachets of coffee and assorted vegetables to selected beneficiaries. He added that the city has distributed four food packs to the families in all 26 barangays since the quarantine lockdown.
“In a recently released report from the LGU on the fund utilization of the national government's Bayanihan Grant to Cities and Municipalities, Mati City has already spent a total of P154 million for food assistance and other relief goods to affected households in the city,” Tesiorna said.
Tesiorna said that the food packs distribution will be simultaneously done on June 19 which also happens to be the birthday of the father of Mati city hood and former mayor Francisco "Paking" Rabat.
The last batch of food packs distribution is by far the biggest, Tesiorna said, adding that these are all donations coming from various corporations and individuals.
