A total of 151 laptops and 200 units of 75-inch smart televisions were handed over on Wednesday.

According to Mayor Arman Dimaguila, the project of providing electronics has been in the works even before the pandemic. The smart televisions are meant to be used for viewing lectures and educational audio-visual materials in schools.

Along with the provision of the devices, the city government is also having fiber optic cables installed in schools and city government offices for faster internet to be used for virtual classes and teleconferencing.

Officials are also planning to utilize local radio station, 87.9 Radyo Biñan, for radio classes and to aid in information dissemination.

Early this month, the city launched the third run of its online tutorial program that drew 851 student participants and 67 volunteer teachers.

Biñan Online Tutorials (BOT), aimed at educating Grade 4 to Senior High School students in Math, Science, and English subjects, has been listed among DILG Calabarzon's LGU Best Practices against COVID-19 in May.
