It’s now “order all you can” rather than the usual self-service buffet at the country’s homegrown buffet restaurant chain Vikings as it introduces its new policies under the "new normal" scenario.
In a two-minute video, the luxury buffet restaurant gave diners a preview of what to expect once it reopens its doors to the public.
According to the restaurant chain's management, apart from the temperature checks at the restaurant’s entrance, customers must fill out digital health declaration forms generated by a QR code prior to entry. Rejected forms upon assessment means no entry.
As opposed to the usual self-service, the transition to “order all you can” policy will be facilitated by a roving restaurant crew who will give customers a disposable order form.
Proper spacing will also be implemented at the dining tables, with glass shields installed at all food stations.
Cashless payment is encouraged, as advised by the Department of Tourism (DOT), to minimize person-to-person contact. As the wearing of face masks remains mandatory, the restaurant will also provide paper bags to prevent a possible transmission of the virus through droplets remaining on plastic.
Meanwhile, restrooms have been similarly refurbished to adapt to the "new normal," with foot bars to avoid contact with door handles, and automated faucets and flush systems.
“To our valued guests, throughout these trying times we at the Vikings Group have done extensive research and complied to the protocols, adjusting and adapting to the new normal. We’d love to share with you our enhanced policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable dining experience,” Vikings said in a post.
