Following the easing of quarantine guidelines, several travel tax counters will now open beginning Friday (June 5), the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) said.
The travel tax is a tariff imposed by the national government on Filipinos departing the country regardless of destination.Â
In its June 4 advisory, TIEZA Chief Operating Officer (COO) Pocholo Paragas said the DOT-attached agency will resume operations beginning Friday at the following travel tax counters:Â
* TIEZA Central Office in Double Dragon, Pasay City
* Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Terminal 1), in Pasay CityÂ

TIEZA advised their clients to pay online using their Online Travel Tax Payment System (OTTPS), which can be accessed through this link: https://traveltax.tieza.gov.ph
For those who want to personally make their payments at the travel tax counters, the management said clients must adhere to the government's health and safety protocols such as the mandatory wearing of face masks and observance of physical distancing.Â
Populations vulnerable to COVID-19, such as those 21 years old and younger and those 60 years old and older, as well as pregnant women, are advised to send a representative with a valid letter of authority to do the transaction in their behalf.Â
TIEZA is an agency under the Department of Tourism mandated to implement policies and programs of the department pertaining to the development, promotion, and supervision of tourism projects in the country.Â
