Seven felons nabbed by Bulacan police

By Freddie Velez CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Seven felons were arrested by Bulacan Police in separate incidents in Angat and Calumpit on Wednesday, June 3. Based on the report submitted to Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe, Bulacan police director, one of the arrested suspects identified as Eduardo Obias Garcia, 30, was arrested for rape, attempted rape, acts of lasciviousness in Relation to RA 7610 and Violation of RA 9165 in Tugatog, Brgy. Marungko, Angat, Bulacan. The suspect was arrested by the Angat policemen who responded to the report of the two victims, a 10-year-old and 13-year-old with their guardian. The 10-year-old victim averred that the suspect raped her last April 1, 2020, while the 13-year-old victim disclosed that last May 29, 2020, the suspect touched her private part and attempted to rape her. During the arrest of the suspect, the arresting officers were able to recover two small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu from the suspect. Meanwhile, six illegal gamblers were arrested in the anti-illegal gambling operation conducted by the Calumpit municipal police station in Barangay Iba Este, Calumpit this province. The arrested suspects were identified as Eduardo Victoria Simbulan, 63; Freddie Anyayahan De Mesa, 52, of Iba Este; Carlos Frias Poblete, 46; Eduardo Victoria Abiles, 52; Romeo Santos Cruz, 77, and Allen Dela Cruz Tuano, 26. The suspects were caught in the act of playing mahjong in a vacant house at 173 Purok 3, Iba Este, Calumpit wherein mahjong set, table, and pieces of peso bills and coins were recovered. Appropriate criminal complaints against the arrested suspects are now being prepared for filing in court.
