Cagayan program encourages youth to go on farming, poultry raising

By Liezle Basa Inigo To make them productive in the midst of the pandemic, the provincial government of Cagayan launched "MagSAKAbataan" program for the youth to encourage them to spend time in farming and in poultry raising. In support of this program, the Food Sufficiency Program of Cagayan gave native chickens in the town of Rizal, particularly in the barangays of Zinundungan, Bural, San Juan, and Masi. Under the native chicken dispersal program, the provincial government will give each youth four native chickens. When the chickens are matured enough to lay eggs, the provincial government will pay them P1,600. When the chicks are grown up, a pair of a hen and a rooster will be taken by the provincial government and will be given to another youth. Aside from native chickens, MagSAKAbataan is also giving out vegetable seedlings. The people of Rizal expressed their gratitude to Governor Manuel N. Mamba for the support, that even if they are in the mountains, the provincial government is support them, especially during the pandemic.
