The facility can accommodate up to 41 patients, and has two booths for taking swab samples for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing.

From the isolation unit, confirmed COVID-19 cases will be transferred to designated hospitals within the city, such as, the Santa Rosa Community Hospital for mild cases and Qualimed; and The Medical City South Luzon's Complex of Hope for moderate to severe cases.

The isolation unit is a collaboration between various organizations. Santa Rosa de Lima Parish offered the structure which is an old building of Canossa School. The city government and Leon C. Arcillas Foundation provided the equipment while Robig Builders took care of construction work.

Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas reminded her constituents that despite the city government's efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19, their compliance with community quarantine measures was still crucial.
