realme 6
Don't you hate it when you rely on a smartphone review to help you decide on a purchase, and that review offers only a limited option? Like, here's a new smartphone, it's good, and highly-recommended as a good buy.
Well, here's a two-in-one piece to hopefully solve that problem for you. Read on, and pick one from this realme 6 versus realme 6 Pro spin.
So we got these two units from realme Philippines only recently and, after the virtual launch of the latest devices in the realme 6 series last May 27, had the two yellow boxes unboxed and the gems inside taken out for a ride (just within the house, quarantine woes).
The Comet White realme 6 we got is a stunner, rivaling the Lightning Blue realme 6 Pro beauty-wise.
Now, to separate the two.
In both our hands, wide apart, the 6 and 6 Pro are practically twins. A closer look, however, would show the realme 6 Pro brandishing a pill-shaped notch with dual-front facing cameras while the realme 6 greets you with a single front camera in a punch-hole design.
Then we realized that the realme 6 Pro has a slightly larger 6.6-inch screen to the 6.5-inch of the realme 6.
realme 6 Pro
Both are mighty proud of their respective quad-camera treats -- a 64-megapixel main sensor along with other lenses on each. The realme 6 has an 8 -megapixel main lens, and two 2-megapixel lenses --one a depth sensor and the other a dedicated monochrome lens. The realme 6 Pro, this includes a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
The realme 6 Pro's second front-facing ultrawide lens allows for wider selfies, trumping the realme 6.
Internally, or about processors and RAMs, the realme 6 is powered by MediaTek Helio G90T while the realme 6 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G; the Realme 6 in variants of 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB and realme 6 Pro in 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB variants.
The two, however, share similar 4,300mAh battery, 30W fast charging, and a 90Hz refresh rate specs.
The screen on the realme 6 clocks at 90Hz - a premium feature for such an affordable phone. It may not be IP-rated but is splashproof plus an in-display fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port on the bottom-end and a very welcome headphone jack.
The fingerprint scanner of the realme 6 Pro is now integrated into the power button on the right side of the phone, with the USB-C port and headphone jack positioned at lower edge. And while the realme 6 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display PLUS a 90Hz refresh rate, the realme 6 Pro has a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD display also with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The realme 6 comes in a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection while the Realme 6 Pro has Gorilla Glass 5.
Now, remember that -- a little difference in display size and glass protection BUT same 90Hz refresh rates.
Both feel premium to touch, are elegantly tinted, AND, give-or-take a few hundred pesos, are considered most affordable to very discerning and budget-conscious techies.
To be frank, we don't have a problem if we ended up with just one of the two. Just consider two things -- Quad Cameras and 90Hz refresh rates -- make either one a best buy any time of the day.
