To urge jobless individuals to venture into business, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has lowered the application fee for the franchise of Lotto, Keno, and Scratch Cards.

PCSO General Manager Royina Garma said the Board has decided to impose a lower application fee to entice individuals who lost their jobs due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The PCSO will now only charge P2,500 instead of the previous P7, 500 for the application fee of the three games.
“This is what we call the 3-in-1 promo. Pay a one-time application fee of P2,500 and you can be a Lotto, Keno, and Scratch Card agent, subject to compliance with other requirements.”
“We need to help each other in order to overcome the harsh reality brought by this pandemic. PCSO is here to help both the government and the Filipino people face the challenges of the new normal,” she added.
Garma said the agency has reduced its renewal fee, from P3,750 to only P1,000 for a period of two years.
“We really want to reach out to those who lost their jobs, that’s why we in PCSO did not only lower the application fee but also the renewal fee,” she said.
Sales commission will also be given to agents, the PCSO said.
“For jackpot bearing games, they will get 7.5 percent sales commission, 5 percent for Digit Games and Keno, and 10 percent for Scratch Cards,” the agency said.
Aside from the sales commission, the agency said lotto agents also get additional 1 percent of the jackpot prize or a maximum of P1 million, as agent’s commission for selling the jackpot winning ticket.
The PCSO said the public may inquire through the following contact numbers: National Capital Region: (02) 8661-1093, Northern and Central Luzon: (02) 8706-2134, Southern and Tagalog Bicol Region: (02) 8706-7753, Visayas Department: (032) 234-4356, and Mindanao Department: (082) 2254-7682.
