Biñan Online Tutorials (BOT) aims to educate students from Grade 4 to Senior High School in Math, Science, and English subjects.
Sixty-seven volunteers, many of whom are professional licensed teachers in public and private schools around the city, will facilitate the classes through video conferencing.
Quizzes, outputs, and worksheets will also be conducted and submitted online.
The first batch of BOT was held in April with 100 students, followed by the second batch in May with over 300 participants.
Mayor Arman Dimaguila, and Youth and Sports Development Officer Alfred Benedict Suarez envisioned the project to be a temporary learning alternative amid this pandemic.
"From registration to online classes to assessment and giving of certificates, all is done online, without physical intervention," BOT Program Chair Mc Larnel Aliluran told Manila Bulletin. "What I think is challenging in this kind of platform is the access of learners to gadgets and the internet."
BOT has been listed among DILG Calabarzon's LGU Best Practices against COVID-19 released May 19.
