According to the Manila public information office (PIO), more than 400 OFWs and tourists were transported right to their homes by the free shuttle service of the city's tourism and culture office. Some 205 of them are residents of Manila while the rest live outside the city, it added.

Angel Carlo Salonga, the tourism office's operations officer, said that the city will continue offering free shuttle services to OFWs and stranded local tourists at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.

"Hindi po tayo titigil sa pag-assist sa ating mga OFW para po makauwi sa kanya-kanyang mga barangay mapa-dito man sa ating lungsod o hindi (We will not stop assisting our returning OFWs so that they can get home, not only in Manila but also in other cities)," he said.

Currently, Salonga said that a total of 605 individuals have already been assisted by the city government after requesting for free shuttle service.

Stranded individuals who would like to apply for a travel pass may contact the tourism office via email at [email protected], the PIO said.
