The Las Piñas City government has allowed tricycle, pedicab, and e-trike drivers to resume their operations starting Monday (June 1) at 50 percent capacity.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said their respective operators' and drivers' associations must conduct their operations in rotation to give other members the chance to operate.
She also said the city government is only allowing tricycle and pedicab drivers to operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The other guidelines, Aguilar said, are:
-
Tricycles, pedicabs and e-trikes may not operate along the national road. They are only allowed inside villages and subdivisions.
-
Operators and drivers' associations must seek a permit from the homeowners' association of gated subdivisions to allow them to operate up to 10 p.m. so as not be penalized for violating the 8:00 p.m. curfew.
-
The odd-even scheme to avoid traffic decongestion inside villages and subdivisions will continue to be implemented
-
Only one passenger can be accommodated in each tricycle. E-trikes are allowed to have two passengers, provided they observe one-meter physical distancing.
-
It is mandatory for drivers to wear face masks and gloves.
Aguilar also said the city government will conduct random testing on drivers in areas with high records of coronavirus disease to ensure everyone's safety.
