BIR reshuffles 535 employees, officials

By Jun Ramirez A total of 535 officials and employees of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) nationwide has been reshuffled in what insiders described as the single biggest personnel movement since BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay took office in 2016. The 17 travel assignment orders did not mention the reason for the revamp, but there is a provision in the Tax Code that requires periodic personnel changes to minimize familiarization with taxpayers. The orders were signed by Dulay and approved by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III. Among those who were given new assignments were Assistant Commissioners Marietta Lorenzo from Project Management and Implementation Service to Planning Management Service; Elenita Quemosing from Internal Affairs Service to Project Management Service. Law and legislative division chief Faith Farochilen to head executive assistant of the Legal Service; Assistant Revenue Regional Directors Claire Corpus from San Fernando City in Pampanga to Quezon City, Mary Ann Asuncion from Legaspi City to San Fernando City; Butuan City Revenue District Officer (RDO) Lordel Monteclaro to assistant regional director Legaspi City. RDOs Rodeo Buenaobra from Calamba City to Novaliches, Quezon City; Antonio Mangubat, Jr. from Parañaque to Calamba; Rebe Detablan from Las Piñas to Paranaque; Merlyn Vicente from Cabanatuan City to Las Piñas; Gil Vinluan,Jr. from Baguio City to Cabanatuan City; Nicanor Ventura from chief assessment division of the Cordillera Autonomous Region to RDO Baguio City. RDOs Gerlo Cacatian from Legaspi City to Trece Martirez City; Arnel Cosinas from Talisay, Camarines Norte to Legaspi City; Cubao, QC assistant RDO Estrella.Manalo to RDO Talisay, Camarines Norte. Nora Macarambon and Liza Tomaneng were promoted from assistant RDO to RDO of Cotabato City and Tandag City, respectively. Most of those given new assignments were assistant RDOs, and those performing assessment and collection functions assigned in the regional and district offices.
