In a statement, Provincial Administrator Engr. Josie Jean Rabanoz said the province has prepared isolations facilities for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and beneficiaries of Balik Probinsya, Balik Pag-asa program of the national government.
Rabanoz said at least 51 individuals have already arrived in province from Manila, and have been taken to isolation facilities.
She said those with medical certificates and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) test results will be given priority.
“That’s why we fast track the preparation of the complex, the dormitory sa Sports Academy and that of the gym and so with our VIP rooms in the swimming pool will be converted to isolation rooms,” she said.
She said the isolation facilities at Kapalong district hospital were already full, while those in every municipality and city were also limited.
The provincial government will be also tapping hotels that could be used as COVID-19 isolation facilities so that returning residents could be immediately housed here.
Rabanoz said Gov. Edwin Jubahi was also negotiating with other establishments, such as the Tuason Development Foundation, Incorporated located inside Hijo Resources Corporation at Madaum, Tagum City, which could also provide isolation facilities.
Meanwhile, the province, including Tagum City, Panabo City ug Island Garden City of Samal, were already preparing the testing booths for the coming new normal.
People coming from Davao City will still need to undergo quarantine measures, but the isolation will not reach 14 days if they will present negative results from a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. But this will, in turn, be evaluated by their Incident Command Center and Municipal Health Officers.
