“Ordinance No. 12 provides for the mandatory wearing of face masks of all persons who out in public places for any purpose within the territorial jurisdiction of the City of Taguig,” according to a post on the city’s official Facebook page on Monday, May 25.

Aside from the wearing of masks, the local government also encouraged their constituents to continue to practice social distancing even as Metro Manila transitions to the so-called “new normal.”

“Social distancing simply means putting space between yourself and others. must be at least one meter, especially as we go outside our homes to buy essentials and within high traffic areas,” part of the post read.

“When people who are infected with the virus stay away from others, they can't pass it to anyone else. Keep safe and maintain your distance,” the post continued.

Like other local government units (LGUs), Taguig City’s LGU has slowly relaxed some of the restrictions put in place under an enhanced community quarantine.

Just a few days ago, the city allowed outdoor exercises, provided that residents who exercise will comply with certain requirements.

Among these is the wearing of face masks and the continued practice of social distancing measures.
