Mandaluyong City gov't will release pension to DSWD-verified senior citizens

By Rizal Obanil The Mandaluyong City government announced that pensioners who have already been interviewed and verified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) will soon receive their pension. (MANDALUYONG CITY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE / FACEBOOK / MANILA BULLETIN) (MANDALUYONG CITY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE / FACEBOOK / MANILA BULLETIN) In a Facebook post on May 22, Friday, the Mandaluyong City Public Information Office said that based on data from the DSWD-NCR 8,339 senior citizens of the city have already been eligible to receive the said pension. Senior citizens who are eligible need to submit the “notice” that they received from the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) as well as the other required documents to the DSWD. The local government along with a representative from the DSWD will start doing house to house calls on senior citizens tentatively on May 21. Mayor Menchie Abalos has ordered their personnel to ensure that all the beneficiaries receive their social pension.
