BAGUIO CITY - The city government is informing the public that the rule allowing “angkas (tandem-riding on motorcycles)” has been withdrawn in view of the national Inter-Agency Task Force directive prohibiting the same.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong
(JJ Landingin / MANILA BULLETIN) Mayor Benjamin Magalong, said that much as the city wanted to allow “angkas” with strict precautionary measures, it was the national rule that should prevail. The “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act” particularly mandates local government units to abide by the guidelines issued by the IATF. "In view of this, “angkas” or tandem-riding is absolutely prohibited in the city. All authorizations issued by the barangays are deemed revoked," Magalong ordered.
