A Cure for Quarantine Blues: realme 6i is a good company in isolation; a relief of fresh air

Middle of this killer boredom stretch, realme Philippines found its way past the checkpoints to deliver to us its latest "gamechanger" in the ever-evolving mobile gaming market.
No "ayuda" needed, we simply ripped off the realme trademark bright yellow box the flimsy see-through plastic and unboxed the 4GB +128 GB, Green Tea colored variant of the new realme 6i which, among others, promised us the experience of a 48MP quad camera, Helio G80 processor, 5000mAh battery of quick charge capacity.
With a price tag of less than Php 10K, you don't need to line up for government assistance just to get a smartphone of this caliber in these most trying times.
The realme 6i comes with a SIM Tray Ejector Pin, Warranty Card, Quick Guide, Soft Gel Protector Case, 18W Quick Charger, USB Type-C Cable and Screen Protect Film (pre-installed for your convenience).
The realme 6i front is a 6.52-inch HD+ 720 x 1600 pixels IPS display with a dew drop notch, equipped with an 89.8% screen-to-body ratio huge fullscreen -- the 20:9 screen ratio making it slimmer.
That small notch on top houses a 16 MegaPixel f/2.0 front-facing camera for taking selfies and recording vlogs in full HD. On the right side is the power button and opposite are the volume rocker and SIM card tray.
Nothing on top but the bottom hosts the loudspeaker, mic, 3.5 mm audio jack and a USB Type C port.
The realme 6i back panel, imagined by Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa, features a shining “striped” design that plays sheen with any light that hits it.
realme Philippines explained that such visual trick was achieved through a meticulous spray coating process and repetitive machine polishing. Designer Fukasawa was also behind the award-winning design of the flagship realme X series Master Edition smartphones and is a member of the advisory board for product development and design at MUJI.
The realme 6i adopts the rare spray coating process, has been polished hundreds of times for that advanced matte visual effect with a delicate and comfortable finish. And you can choose from two colorways–Creamy White and Green Tea.
You can find on the back panel the 48MP AI Quad Cameras and the fingerprint scanner. The realme 6i, we repeat, can be yours at less than Php 10K. The realme 6i features the world’s First MediaTek Helio G80 SoC with high performance processor built for gaming. It’s octa-core CPU has a main frequency of up to 2.0GHz. The Mali G52 1000MHz GPU delivers 25% better performance resulting in greater image quality and a more stable frame rate. realme is a partner of Mobile Legends Bang Bang, by the way.
realme 6i sports the latest flagship, ultra-clear quad camera setup, comprised of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP 119° ultra wide-angle, a macro lens and a B&W portrait lens. The 48MP main sensor has an f/1.8 large aperture, and 6P lens. Quad Bayer’s 4-in-1 intelligent pixel binning mechanism combines four adjacent pixels into a large pixel, enhancing the resolution and quality of images even in low-light settings.

The 119° 8MP ultra wide-angle lens has an f/2.25 aperture, so good for large group photo, landscapes or amazing architecture. The 4cm Macro lens let users get closer on any beauty subjects for Facebook and Instagram brags. The new color filter system allows the portrait lens to detect a wider array of light, and with the main lens capture light better, enhance image contrast, create retro-style images, and add texture to portraits.
The selfie camera has a 16MP Super Clear Selfie AI Beauty mode and can capture full HD videos.
Since we all have more times and bores to kill, it's good to know that the realme 6i UI was built for an enhanced and closer to stock android experience. realme UI uses high-saturation and high-brightness colors to construct an authentic color scheme with an icon customization function.
For animation, realme UI is equipped with the latest quantum animation engine, which improves the screen fluency.
Ready to play? Take note of the realme 6i 18W Quick Charge and a 9V/2A charging kit that make for some real impressive charging speed, and reduced charging time.
The 5000mAh battery features triple safety protection, this massive battery eases concerns for a smartphone battery life. So no need to worry about forgetting your powerbank, or running out of juice while in the middle of a marathon gaming sessions.
Worthy of note are the Dual Mode Music Share, Focus Mode and Dark Mode. Dual Mode Music Share allows you and a friend to share the same video or song at the same time on one device—one via bluetooth earphones and the other through wired earphones.
Focus Mode IS FOR YOU to concentrate and relax without getting distracted from your phone. Turn on “Focus Mode” and the system turn on DND (Do Not Disturb) that prevents new notifications from coming in, while you relax with music.
Dark Mode has been optimized to work with more third-party apps, and you can even set it to automatically turn off at sunrise and turn on at sunset.
So we've said a lot already about the realme 6i, but we assure you there's more to discover and enjoy.
And please, wash your hands properly.
