The Las Piñas City government lifted the liquor ban in the city Wednesday, as announced by Mayor Imelda Aguilar.
According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, city ordinance No. 1693, Series of 2020, permits distributors, wholesalers or high volume retailers, and low-volume retailers like grocery stores, sari-sari- stores and convenience store can now sell liquor.
Aguilar, however, pointed out that even the liquor ban was already lifted in the city, city residents can only drink liquor inside their homes and such drinking is limited only to the members of the family.
She warned that inviting friend, neighbors and or visitors in drinking liquor is prohibited.
The mayor said that the city government also prohibits drinking of liquor in public place like along the street, parks and plaza.
Aguilar said that those who will be caught violating the ordinance will be slapped with appropriate charges.
