The municipal government of Carmona, Cavite recorded its fifth positive case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Wednesday.
Patient C-P5 is a 29-year old female health worker who is currently asymptomatic. She is now under monitoring at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
Aside from C-P5, four other COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Carmona, with one admitted, two recovered, and one under strict home isolation.
Meanwhile, the municipality intensifies its contact-tracing efforts by launching the Carmona COVID-19 Tracker (CCT) app. The app tracks users’ location history through their mobile phone’s GPS feature.
The app also allows users to log interactions and scan QR codes of major buildings and establishments they visit.
Aside from contact-tracing efforts, it can also be used by individuals for self-assessment if one experiences symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
"Ang sinuman pong hindi magre-register dito ay hindi maaaring lumabas ng tahanan, pumasok sa trabaho, at magbukas ng negosyo sa bayan ng Carmona sa panahon na nananatili ang krisis pangkalusugan (Those who will not register in the app will not be allowed to go out of their home, go to work, or open their business in Carmona because of the ongoing health crisis),” said Mayor Roy M. Loyola on an online announcement when the app was launched May 16.
For those who don’t have smartphones, Loyola says barangay personnel and police officers can log information on their behalf.
