The Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Committee on Psychosocial Emergency Services shared 10 activities that can help you relieve stress and anxiety.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, the group from the University of the Philippines Diliman identified the following activities
1. Walk: This activity makes one feel the body move and thus take one’s mind off the cause of stress and anxiety.
2. Push against a wall: While doing this activity one can focus on coming up with a solution.
3. Look for colors or shapes: This activity again serves as a distraction to whatever is bothering you at the moment. The group suggests that the troubled individual looks for six colors or six shapes in his or her immediate surroundings.
4. Count backwards:The group suggests that this activity be done in combination with walking.
5. Drink: Feel the sensations of the act as you drink a beverage.
6. Touch objects: Feel the texture of the object you are touching.
7. Temperature: Notice the differences in temperature in different parts of your body.
8. Listen: Try to hear the sounds in your surroundings and try to identify what made that sound. This activity is similar to the shapes and colors activities and will again help one to focus on something else.
9. Notice: Pay attention to the objects around you, take note of what catches your attention right away. Often when we are thinking of a problem we become oblivious to everything around us. That one thing that you’ve failed to notice might actually brighten up your day.
10. Open your eyes: The group says that if you have a tendency to close your eyes then open them and keep them relaxed.
These activities are meant to get you back in the “resilient zone.”
