The Parañaque City government added a new additional isolation facility to cater individuals who will be found positive with coronavirus and those that are probable and suspected cases.

The new isolation facility designated by the city government was the Baclaran Elementary School Central which was designed to cater Barangay Baclaran residents afflicted with the virus as well as suspect and probable cases.
To date Barangay Baclaran ranked number six with the highest number of individuals afflicted with the virus with a total number of 43 and two deaths. The other barangays with the highest number of persons afflicted with the virus were barangays San Antonio with 78, BF Homes with 66, San Dionisio with 66, Don Bosco with 59, and Moonwalk with 51.
On the Facebook page of the city government dated May 10, the city has recorded a total number of 578 individuals affected with the virus and 40 deaths. Mayor Edwin Olivarez said that as part of the advocacy of the city government to fight COVID19, Baclaran Elementary School Central was designated as an additional isolation facility.
Olivarez said that the other isolation facility in the city were the city’s-run two public hospitals the Ospital ng Parañaque I and II, Parañaque National High School main campus, Parañaque City College both located in San Dionisio, San Antonio High School and Dr.Arcadio Santos National High School both located in San Martin de Porres.
He also said that saturation to all barangays has already been made to isolate all those that are probable and suspected cases particularly those that are positive. The mayor said that once they were all placed at their isolation facilities, a mass testing will be conducted to identify persons infected with the virus.
Olivarez said that mass testing will also be conducted down to the barangay level. He said that the approach being done by the city government is geared towards the safety of the city residents to finally isolate or segregate infected individuals to go into quarantine. The mayor added that he is hoping that through the said protocol, the city can combat the further spreading of the virus in the city while awaiting the vaccine against COVID.
