4 suspected drug peddlers killed in Bulacan encounter; 9 others arrested

By Freddie Velez CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – Four drug suspects were killed, while nine others were arrested, in different police operations conducted on Friday and early morning Saturday, May 2. Bulacan Police Director Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe identified the slain suspects as Resty Ereze Rayo, and a certain Anten, who were killed in Barangay Minuyan Proper, City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) at about 12:10 a.m. on May 1; Gwendel John Lazarondo Samaniego, who was slain along Bijasa Road, Barangay Gaya-gaya, CSJDM at about 12:15 a.m. on May 2, and Reynaldo Asuncion Castillo Jr. who was killed in Barangay Capihan in San Rafael town, at about 1:30 a.m. May 2. Cajipe said the four suspects were slain in separate buy-bust operations conducted as they tried to resist arrest by firing at police operatives. Collected at the crime scene from Rayo and Anten were an improvised shotgun and a caliber.38 revolver; from Samaniego, an improvised shotgun, a sachet of shabu, and the P500 buy-bust money; and from Castillo, a caliber-.38 revolver, and a motorcycle. Other buy-bust operations in the province also resulted in the arrest of nine other suspects in Calumpit, San Rafael, Pulilan and Marilao. A total of 10 plastic sachets of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspects during these operations. The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination while criminal complaints against the suspects are now being prepared for filing in court.
