Gat Andres hospital still accepts dialysis patients

By Rizal Obanil The Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center (GABMMC) in Tondo, Manila will still continue to accept dialysis patients despite the temporary closure of its emergency room, it was announced by its director today, April 29. 10530685-c904-4aa0-9af9-9f433b6dbabf (GAT ANDRES BONIFACIO MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER / FACEBOOK / MANILA BULLETIN) The hospital’s emergency room was temporarily closed after some of its health workers got infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). GABMMC OIC-Director Dr. Ted Martin in an interview over Dobol B sa News TV, said they have to continue to provide service to their 400 dialysis patients despite the virus threat. “We will continue to serve our dialysis patients as outpatients. We are just separating our persons under investigation (PUIs) from the rest of the patients. The PUIs are undergoing dialysis and they are on their last session,” Dr. Martin said in the vernacular. GABMMC has also provided a separate dialysis area for COVID-19 positive patients. The hospital’s emergency room is expected to re-open on May 5.
