Gov't health workers in Quezon granted 25% risk allowance

By Danny Estacio PAGBILAO, Quezon- Governor Danilo Suarez announced here Tuesday, April 28, that a 25-percent risk allowance will be granted to all government health workers assigned in hospitals due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis. Suarez made the announcement before the province’s district board members, headed by Vice Governor Samuel Nantes; municipal and barangay officials, led by Pagbilao Mayor Shierre Ann Palicpic. According to Suarez, the allowance for health workers will be a one-time benefit, depending on the number of days they reported for duty. He also said the rates of job order nurses and medical staff will be raised from the current rate of P841-per day to the rate of a permanent nurse 1 employee of P943-per-day. Because of the present status of the COVID-19 crisis in Quezon, he gave each employee of the government hospitals, the Quezon Medical Center (QMC) and other 15 district hospitals in the province a food pack containing 25 kilos of rice, and P1000-worth of grocery items. Suarez handed over to Palicpic, 10,000 food packs, and 54 sacks of rice and health coupons to be given to 27 barangay chairmen as enhanced community quarantine assistance from the provincial government. Also, in Lucena City, more than 51,000 households in the city, was set to receive on Tuesday, April 28, the cash assistance for 11 barangays as initial phase of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD’s) Social Amelioration Program (SAP) at the Punzalan gymnasium.
