2 members of drug-robbery syndicate killed in Calamba City shootout with cops

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna- Two members of drug and robbery hold-up group were killed, while one of their cohorts was arrested a buy-bust operation conducted by police operatives deteriorated into a deadly shootout on Saturday.
A police report identified the fatalities as Marlon Fajardo, alias Badong; and Roberto Luis Amador, while their cohort Maximo de Luna Jr. was arrested in the operation conducted in Block 22, Sigtio Majada-In Housing, Barangay Canlubang.
The suspects were said to be members of the Barok Fajaro drug and robbery hold-up group operating, here.
Operatives of the Laguna Drug Enforcement Unit and the Calamba City police initiated the buy-bust operation against the suspects at 3:20 p.m. last April 25.
The investigative report said that, while Luna was transacting with an undercover police officer, Fajardo and Amador were onboard a sedan, waiting for the deal to be completed.
But Fajardo sensed that Luna was dealing with a police operative and, suddenly drew a handgun and fired at the operative, prompting the lawman’s back-up team to return fire, and fatally hitting the victims. Luna reportedly gave himself up during the fire fight.
The authorities recovered at the crime scene a caliber. 9mm pistol, a caliber. 38 revolver loaded with live ammunition and fired cartridge cases; a large heat-sealed plastic with three sachets shabu with an approximate weight of 28 grams and with an estimated DDB value of P700,000; a cellular phone and shabu paraphernalia.
