VP Leni celebrates birthday by overseeing relief work for frontliners

The vice president was born on April 23, 1965 in Naga, Camarines Sur. Her children—Aika, Tricia, and Jillian— made a carrot cake, with M&M’s chocolate candies on top of it, for her birthday. “Happy Birthday to my Mama, whose quiet (and often underrated) carries us through so many life’s surprises,” Aika, the eldest among the Robredo sisters, said in an Instagram post. Jillian, her youngest daughter, posted a video of the vice president blowing her birthday cake during an early celebration at their home in Quezon City. “Carrot cake with M&M’s! by Tres Marias. My mama’s 55!” she wrote. “Happy happy birthday to my trusted source of KDrama and skincare and the only person who can tolerate my BTS obsession in this family...love you mamabearz.” The vice president was greeted with warm messages by her staff, supporters, and partymates in the opposition Liberal Party. “Maligayang kaarawan, VP @lenirobredo! Salamat sa inyong serbisyo at pagbibigay ng pag-asa at inspirasyon sa ating mga kababayan,” opposition Senator Francis Pangilinan tweeted. (Happy Birthday, VP @lenirobredo! Thanks for your service and giving hope and inspiration to our countrymen.) “Happiest birthday Ma'am Leni! Thank you for your courage. You are a true inspiration Fight Leni4ever,” Jill Campo-Javiniar, head of Robredo’s Angat Buhay program, said in Facebook post. “Thank you for continuing to provide us much hope and courage amidst the overwhelming darkness. May our good Lord continue to bless you and your family with good health and much more graces as you continue to lead our nation,” a portion of Kaya Natin! lead convenor Harvey Keh’s message said. The Office of the Vice President and Kaya Natin! have so far raised P55.8 million to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and food packs for coronavirus frontliners. Of this amount, they were able to deliver 88,800 PPE sets to 487 hospitals and communities across the country.
