Police arrests 11 persons for illegal gambling

By Zaldy Comanda CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera reported the arrest of 11 individuals for illegal gambling as part of the strict implementation of Enhance Community Quarantine in the province of Abra. Police BGen. R’win Pagkalinawan, regional director, said 11 gamblers were separately arrested in anti-illegal gambling operations conducted by the operatives of the Abra Provincial Police Office. He said that concerned citizens informed the Bangued Municipal Police Station on the on-going playing cards at Zone 4, Bangued, Abra. The arrested suspects, identified as Laureano Bargas Vasquez, Romnick Navarro Laureta, and Abel Donato Patalay. Minutes later, another house in the same barangay, four persons playing mahjong were arrested. They are identified as Christina Navarro Laureta, Trixie Navarro Amoyo, Yzabell Bargas Satella, and Marie Cris Bilgera Apuya. In Barangay Zone 7, also in Bangued tow, four gamblers were caught while playing cards. They are identified as Valerio Belisario Balubar, Rowell Baldemor Bragas, Romeo Paz Pico, and Joel Barbosa Puruganan. Two sets of playing cards and bet money amounting to P1,205.00 were confiscated during the operation.
