AFP, PNP assist LGU Tarlac in relief operation to IPs

The Philippine Army’s (PA) 3rd Mechanized Infantry (Makatarungan) Battalion and the Philippine National Police (PNP) assisted the Provincial Government of Tarlac in the distribution of relief goods to Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities in Sitio Agus and Sitio Tala, Barangay Burgos, San Jose, Tarlac.

Maj. Amado Gutierrez, PA Public Affairs Office Chief, said family packs containing 3 kilos of rice, canned goods, noodles, vitamins, and face masks were distributed to 150 families.

Governor Susan Yap of Tarlac and Mayor Romeo Ong Capitulo of San Jose, together with the personnel of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion, PNP representatives, and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, participated in the distribution.

Lt. Col. Norberto P. Aromin Jr., commanding officer of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion said “this is an example of a united front in facing the COVID-19." He assured that the PA will continue to work with stakeholders to respond to the needs of the communities.

" “It is the Army’s principle to leave no one behind, that’s why we are doing everything to reach everyone, especially those living in isolated areas within our area of responsibility,” said Brig. Gen. Manuel V. Sequitin, Disaster Response Task Group (DRTG) commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division.
