By Dhel Nazario Families in Taguig City who will not be eligible to receive aid under the national government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) will be receiving P4,000 from the local government under the Taguig Amelioration Program. He said that a P2 billion supplemental budget has been passed by the city, P1 billion of which will be will be allocated for the Taguig Amelioration Program. "Ang layunin po nito ay para lahat ng pamilyang Taguigueño ay makatanggap ng ayuda ngayong panahon ng krisis," Cayetano said in a video message posted on the city's Facebook page. He disclosed that over 92,000 families in the city are beneficiaries of the SAP, while 10,000 other families will be part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Both of these programs are administered by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The 270,000 families who are not part of the amelioration program of the national government will receive cash assistance under the Taguig Amelioration Program. "Naiintindihan ho namin sa panahon ng krisis, lahat ho nangangailangan. Hindi lang ho ang poorest of the poor na sisiguraduhin natin mauuna sa Social Amelioration Program kung hindi yung ayuda at yung dagdag tulong ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Taguig," Cayetano said. Cayetano said that this is over and above the other ongoing assistance programs of the local government. "We thank the national government for looking after the poorest of the poor. We will continue to work hand in hand with the national government to implement its various sectoral programs," the city said in a statement.
