Kalentong market in Mandaluyong bares schedule

By Rizal Obanil

Just like other public markets in other cities, the Kalentong Market in Mandaluyong City devised a scheme to limit the number of market goers to adhere to government’s guidelines on social distancing.

Residents of Mandaluyong whose surnames start with letters M to Z can go to the market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Those with surnames starting with the letters A to L can go every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The market will be closed for disinfection and inspection every Monday.

It can be recalled that the Kamuning Market and Muntinlupa public market likewise implemented similar scheduling schemes to limit the number of people inside the respective markets.

Social distancing has been the worldwide method of preventing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

However, the 1-meter distance rule of social distancing is often disregarded inside public markets, resulting in greater health risks.
