(MANILA BULLETIN) DSWD Palawan Field Office SWAD team leader Eric Aborot said that they have forwarded the amount of P388 million for the 23 municipalities and P180 million to the city government. He said that the distribution is expected to start within this week after the finalization of data. "We have already downloaded the amount, an estimated P388 million to municipalities and P180 million for the city. Hopefully, we start the distribution this week," he said. He also assured that the cash grant will be distributed in Kalayaan town as soon as possible as they are waiting for other documents from the island. " the distribution will be followed, we are just waiting some transmittal from the island," he said. Aside from this, Aborot said that beneficiaries of the 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) do not need to fill out Social Amelioration Card (SAC) forms because their cash subsidies have been directly credited to their account. In Palawan, there are around 78,000 4Ps beneficiaries. " beneficiaries of 4Ps are included, the government just added an amount to their regular cash assistance to complete the P5,000. We call it pop up. There is also no need to fill up a form because the cash will be deposited to their ATM or bank accounts," Aborot explained. In total, there are more than 195,000 beneficiaries, including 4Ps and non-4Ps in the entire province including Puerto Princesa City. Aborot said that families who are not included as beneficiary may file an appeal before the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) three days after the pay out. "Those who were not included in the SAP beneficiary may file an appeal before their respective city or municipal social welfare and development office three day after the pay out. However, we cannot assured that they will receive the assistance immediately because we have to ask a fund from the national government," he added. In addition, the distribution of financial assistance is also tasked to the city government. Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the assistance are those included in the informal sector such as street vendors, drivers, garbage collectors, and low-income families. ", low-income families and informal workers are qualified in the program," he added.
