Pasig City Children's Hospital converted into COVID-19 referral facility

By Richa Noriega The Pasig City Children’s Hospital (PCCH) has been converted into a COVID-19 referral facility as public and private hospitals near saturation point, Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Tuesday. “Public & private hospital systems are nearing saturation point. Let's act fast. We have converted the city-run PCCH into a COVID-19 REFERRAL FACILITY,” the Pasig mayor tweeted. Sotto also assured residents that the facilities are safe and downplayed fears about becoming infected. “LIGTAS ang pasilidad na to. Muli, hindi po tumatagos ng pader ang virus. Sa close contact ang hawaan nito,” he said. (The facilities are safe. Again, the virus will not penetrate walls. The virus is spread through close contact.) Earlier, Sotto invited doctors and nurses to work in Pasig, as their hospitals near saturation point.
