Cargo and delivery trucks, meanwhile, will be allowed to enter the city with the condition that drivers and helpers will not be allowed to leave their vehicles.
The drivers and passengers of the vehicles given exemption to travel and pass through during the enhanced community quarantine and city-wide lockdown will still be subjected for COVID-19 precautionary measures such as the temperature check in the designated surveillance stations of the city.
Last Thursday, April 3, Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Juhabib issued Executive Order No. 13, declaring the entire province of Davao del Norte except the Island Garden City of Samal under enhanced community quarantine.
The enhanced community quarantine of the province will last for a two-week period starting April 5 until April 20,2020.
The executive order included provisions mandating “extreme precautionary measures” to strictly be imposed in Tagum City, Panabo City, and the Municipality of Carmen.
As of April 4, Davao del Norte already has nine positive COVID-19 cases. Eight of these are from Tagum City while one confirmed case is recorded in Panabo City. Currently, the province has 20 persons under investigation (PUIs) admitted at the Davao Regional Medical Center; and a total of 239 persons under monitoring (PUMs).
The executive order further states that the aggravating condition in Davao del Norte necessitates the issuance of supplementary guidelines and to enforce stricter measures for this purpose.
The order mandates that all public and private vehicles from Tagum City, Panabo City, and the Municipality of Carmen are prohibited from entering and exiting their respective jurisdiction.
It also added that residents of other cities and municipalities of Davao del Norte are discouraged to go to Tagum City, Panabo City, and Municipality of Carmen.
