Las Piñas city gets five more COVID-19 cases, mayor reminds residents to stay at home

By Jean Fernando  The Las Piñas City Health Office recorded an increase in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the city. From a recorded 32 individuals on April 2, five more tested positive on April 3, Friday, putting the total number of COVID-19 cases in Las Piñas to 37, with three recorded deaths. As of April 3, there are 11 more persons under investigation (PUIs), which put the city’s total to 50 PUIs. Meanwhile, the number of persons under monitoring (PUMs) has gone down from 351 to 300, the City Health Office said. Identified barangays affected by the virus are BF International Village in CAA and Pilar, each with five COVID-19 cases, followed by Manuyo Uno and Talon Dos with four each, and Pamplona Uno, Pamplona Tres, and Zapote with three each. The City Health Office has also identified individuals affected by the virus in barangays Almanza Uno, Daniel Fajardo, E. Aldana, and Talon Uno (with one case each), as well as in Pamplona Dos and Talon Kuatro with (two cases each). With the increasing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, Mayor Imelda Aguilar is appealing to city residents to continue staying home and to follow other ECQ protocols designed to help government fight COVID-19. She also assured her constituents that family food packs will be delivered by the city’s incident management team, which was created to ensure the organized distribution of the relief goods.
