Help from the corporate world continued to pour as Luzon enters third week of its month-long lockdown.
Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Charito “Ching” Plaza said 24 of its registered companies have extended support to frontline workers battling the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while Luzon is under the enhanced community quarantine.
These companies have come together to donate personal protective equipment (PPEs) for the health frontline workers. These companies are Toshiba Information Equipment Philippines Inc. (TIEPI); Amkor Technology Philippines, Inc.; Sunpower Philippines Manufacturing Ltd.; Nidec Philippines Corporation (NPC); Cleanfit Technologies International, Inc.; MkFF Laserteknique International, Inc.; Terumo Philippines Corporation (TPC); Astec Power Philippines, Inc.; NEP Logistics, Inc. (NLI); EMS Components Assembly, Inc. (ECAI); Inventory Management Services, Inc. (IMSI); Nikkoshi Philippines Corporation; Katolec Philippines Corporation; Tsukiden Electronics Philippines Inc. (TEPI); Kuroda Electric Philippines, Inc.; F.Tech Philippines Mfg., Inc.; Shin-Etsu Magnetics Phils. Inc. (SEMPI); Ushio Philippines Inc. (UPI); Ana¬log Devices Gen. Trias Inc. (ADGTI); Yumex Elec Philippines Corp. (YEPC); CSE Power; Mass Power; FCC (Philippines) Corporation; and, Philkostat Inc.
In Clark special economic zone, Texas Instruments (TI) donated PPEs to hospitals in Angeles City and the province.
Likewise, the Philippine Science High School-Central Luzon formu¬lated ethyl alcohol for distribution to frontliners, including security person¬nel manning the gates of the Clark Freeport Zone.
At the same time, the Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA) initiated a campaign called “Help Us Help Frontliners” and were able to source PPEs.
BINALOT
Filipino fast food chain Binalot has been very busy since the enhanced community quarantine was implemented Luzon-wide last March 17, 2020 by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Binalot Operations Manager Judee Morente said that free meal packages have been sent and will continue to be sent to hospitals and medical facilities in Metro Manila for health care workers serving as frontliners in the war against COVID-19. "For these modern-day heroes, Binalot can do no less," she explained.
Binalot realizes that the doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners are the ones who need support the most. “These modern-day heroes work tirelessly to care for and heal those infected or might be infected with the COVID virus," Cristina Martinez, Binalot Marketing Manager said.
Binalot has partnered with various kind-hearted institutions and individuals who sponsor food packages for the frontliners. "Binalot prepares the meals, packs them then distributes the ready-to-eat meals to various Metro Manila hospitals chosen by the sponsors.
