7 nabbed for selling overpriced alcohol in Manila

(Photos from MPD PIO via Minka Tiangco / MANILA BULLETIN) (Photos from MPD PIO via Minka Tiangco / MANILA BULLETIN) Police identified the suspects as Rose Ann Gaddi, 24; Cristina Samson, 34; Antonio Samson, Jr., 36; Joanne Alejandro; Andrea Nieves, 22; Mary Jane Aliga, 25; all residents of Tondo, Manila; and Bob Cazzie Nellas, 36, resident of Maypajo, Caloocan City. Elements of the Manila Police District Raxabago Police Station conducted a sting operation against Gaddi, Cristina and Antonio Samson, Alejandro, and Nieves, after they received a tip from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The said suspects were arrested after selling P30,000 worth of rubbing alcohol to a poseur buyer at Barangay 151 in Tondo, Manila at about 3:30 p.m. During their interrogation, Aliga called and offered 200 gallons of alcohol that are ready for delivery to the suspects. The police then launched a follow-up operation where they nabbed Aliga and Nellas at Barangay 55 in Tondo, Manila at about 9:50 p.m. Retrieved from the suspects were four boxes each containing 15 1-liter bottles of alcohol worth P500, and 150 gallons of isopropyl alcohol inside a blue Mitsubishi Adventure vehicle. The arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
