Dalgona-inspired recipes fit for non-coffee lovers

Fluffy, frothy, and Instagrammable, Dalgona coffee is the ultimate DIY drink as people practice social distancing in this time of community quarantine. Who can blame them? With minimum requirements resulting in maximum deliciousness, no wonder this three-ingredient, three-step trend has gone viral.

If you’re not the coffee-drinking kind, we’ve got you covered. Here are some ways you can enjoy and create your Dalgona sans the coffee.

MATCHA DALGONA

Ingredients:

1 tsp matcha powder

1 egg white

¼ cup white sugar

¼ cup water

1 cup milk

 

Procedure:

  1. Separate egg white in a bowl and whisk until frothy then fluffy.

  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Don’t stir the mixture and let the mixture simmer.

  3. Gradually pour the sugar syrup into the egg white. Mix it until glossy.

  4. Add in matcha powder.

  5. In a cup, pour in milk, add ice, and top it with the matcha-flavored mixture.

MILO DALGONA

Ingredients:

2 tbsp Milo powder

2 tbsp white sugar

2 tbsp hot water

1 cup of milk

Procedure:

  1. Mix Milo powder, sugar, and hot water.

  2. Whisk it for three to five minutes until thick and creamy.

  3. Put it on top of iced milk and dust it with more Milo powder to make it extra.

 

MILKTEA DALGONA

Ingredients:

2 tbsp of Thai Milk Tea powder

2 tbsp sugar

2 tbsp hot water

1 cup of milk

Ice

Procedure:

  1. Combine Thai milk tea powder, sugar, and hot water and mix until velvety.

  2. Pour mixture on top of iced milk and it’s done.
