4 arrested for overpricing of isopropyl alcohol

By Jean Fernando A barangay kagawad and three others were arrested for hoarding and overpricing of bottles of isopropyl alcohol Wednesday afternoon in Pasay City. Police identified the suspects as Gemma Montalbo,51, barangay kagawad; Eduardo Salvador,24; Harvy Besa,20, helper, all residents of 122 Primero De Mayo St., Barangay 88, Zone 9, Pasay City and John Paul Delos Reyes, 20, helper, of 235 Primero De Mayo St., Barangay 91 Zone 9, Pasay City. The suspects were arrested by the police at about 5:30 p.m. along Park Avenue, Barangay 88, Zone 9, Pasay City. The police said that prior to the arrests, they received a call from a concerned citizen saying that the suspects were selling 500 ml bottles of alcohol at a price of P185 each with a regular price of P74.00 Members of the Station Intelligence Section together with elements of from 301st Special Mission Group, 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing of the Philippine Airforce were dispatched at said place to conduct validation on the report. Upon verification made, the suspects were arrested and confiscated in their possession about 504 pieces of 500ml bottles of isopropyl alcohol being sold at P185 each with a regular price of P74.00 only. The suspects were brought at the Pasay City custodial facility and will be facing charges in violation of hoarding and overpricing.
