Passenger from Manila is Cagayan Valley’s 1st COVID-19 case

By Jhon Dave Ablat The Cagayan Valley Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19 confirmed the first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Region 2, Saturday, March 21, after a patient who arrived from Manila tested positive for the viral disease. According to the advisory released by authorities, the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development reported that a 44-year-old man, to be known as PH275, from Metro Manila arrived in Tuguegarao City last March 11. It was also gathered that the patient arrived in Tuguegarao onboard a Florida Bus, with body number GD36 and was at Seat Number 30. The bus left Manila at 8 p.m., March 10, and arrived in Tuguegarao at 7 a.m., March 11. Authorities advised those who may have been on the same bus with the victim coming from Manila to immediately contact officials in the province. recorded the said case in the Province of Cagayan and was found out that the 44 year old male patient traveled from Metro Manila to Tuguegarao City last March 10. PH275 has been placed under isolation, and being given medical attention at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center. This was the first case of the disease in Cagayan Valley after the disease spread in some parts of the country.
